Another option is to drive via Toblach to the picturesque Höhlensteintal Valley, past Monte Cristallo and Tofana to Cortina d’Ampezzo and on to legendary mountain passes like Falzarego, Pordoij and the Gardena Pass in mountains that the architect Le Corbusier described as the most beautiful in the world.

These are well maintained roads that rarely see traffic jams, even in the peak holiday season, so you cut out the stress from the word go.
